L’entraineur de la Mauritanie, Amir Abdou, a affirmé jeudi à Annaba, à la veille de la confrontation contre le Sénégal vendredi soir en quart de finale du CHAN 2022, que la qualification à ce stade de compétition est “en soi une victoire historique”, tout en affirmant que son équipe est déterminée à sortir un grand match pour passer en demi-finale.
Au cours d’une conférence de presse animée au stade 19-mai, Amir Abdou a indiqué que la sélection mauritanienne “est pleinement prête pour cette rencontre importante et décisive” et “nous ferons le maximum pour atteindre les objectifs tracés pour la sélection”.
Il a souligné également que son “onze n’a pas pu bien préparer le match à cause du voyage”, estimant que la rencontre sera difficile “particulièrement sur le plan mental et de la récupération après les efforts physiques importants consentis par les joueurs lors des précédents matchs”.
Il a ajouté : “les joueurs ont de grandes ambitions et nous œuvrerons à marquer notre présence durant le match en consolidant nos lignes de milieu et de défense et en misant sur l’efficacité”.
De son côté, le joueur Hemeya Tanji présent à la conférence de presse a déclaré : “nous respectons le Sénégal mais nous allons jouer à fond nos chances pour décrocher la qualification pour le dernier carré et à faire plaisir au peuple mauritanien”.
Il a également affirmé connaitre désormais le stade 19-mai 1956 et a souhaité que le public annabi supportera l’équipe mauritanienne.
