Le tribunal de Dar El Beïda a rendu son verdict ce jeudi 3 juillet 2025 dans l’affaire opposant le ministère public au Dr Mohamed El-Amine Belghit. L’universitaire a été condamné à cinq ans de prison ferme.
Le jugement a été prononcé en audience publique, en présence des avocats de la défense et de nombreux soutiens du prévenu. L’affaire, suivie de près par les médias et l’opinion publique, avait suscité une vive attention ces dernières semaines.
Le parquet près le tribunal de Dar El Beïda avait requis sept ans de prison ferme ainsi qu’une amende de 700 000 dinars algériens à l’encontre du Dr Belghit, qui était détenu depuis le début de l’instruction.
M. Belghit a été poursuivi pour plusieurs chefs d’accusation, notamment :
– propagation de discours de haine et discrimination par le biais des technologies de l’information et de la communication ;
– diffusion délibérée de fausses informations susceptibles de troubler l’ordre public ;
– atteinte à l’intégrité et à l’unité nationale.
Les poursuites font suite à une interview controversée accordée en mai dernier par le Dr Belghit à la chaîne Sky News Arabia. Durant cet entretien, certaines de ses déclarations avaient été perçues comme une remise en question des fondements de l’identité nationale algérienne.
