Le Comité pour la protection des journalistes (Committee to Protect Journalists, CPJ), ONG américaine promouvant la liberté de la presse à travers le monde, a appelé ce mercredi à la fin du blocage imposé par les autorités à cinq sites d’information en Algérie dont TSA.

« Trois médias ont indiqué que leurs sites sont récemment devenus inaccessibles aux lecteurs locaux : Interlignes le 25 juillet, Observ’Algérie le 1er août, et Algérie Patriotique le 5 août », indique le CPJ. « Tout Sur l’Algérie et Algérie Part demeurent également bloqués depuis juin », ajoute l’ONG.
« Aucun des sites n’a été informé d’une quelconque restriction officielle », affirme le CPJ. « Ce n’est pas un accident que plusieurs journaux en ligne algériens indiquent des perturbations durant un mouvement de protestation historique », a estimé Sherif Mansour, responsable au sein du CPJ chargé du Moyen-Orient et de l’Afrique du Nord.
« Les autorités et les compagnies de télécommunications en Algérie doivent mettre fin aux restrictions arbitraires et opaques des médias digitaux », a appelé le responsable.
« Youtube, Google Translate, Hangouts et d’autres services Google ont séparément été inaccessibles à travers le territoire national pendant plusieurs heures le 8 août lors d’une panne « semblable aux méthodes utilisées pour restreindre le contenu en ligne », rappelle par ailleurs le CPJ, qui cite l’ONG de défense des droits numériques NetBlocks. « Un reportage de France24 a indiqué que cette perturbation faisait suite à une vidéo dans laquelle l’ancien ministre algérien de la Défense, Khaled Nezzar, exhortait les autorités militaires du pays à ‘’répondre aux demandes de la population’’ », précise le Comité pour la protection des journalistes.
« Le ministère la Communication algérien n’a pas répondu à la demande de commentaire du CPJ soumise via son site Web en juin, ni à une demande de suivi envoyée en août. Algérie Télécom n’a pas répondu aux deux courriels du CPJ demandant un commentaire », indique enfin l’ONG.
