Les nageurs algériens engagés dans la 5e édition du championnat arabe Open, dont le coup d’envoi a été donné mercredi matin au Centre nautique du complexe sportif d’Oran, Miloud-Hadefi, ont tous validé leurs billets pour les finales, prévues à partir de 17h00, selon le programme de la compétition.
La participation algérienne dans les éliminatoires programmées au cours de cette première journée de la compétition a concerné uniquement les garçons. Les filles quant à elles, ont été directement qualifiées pour les finales des épreuves programmées pour ce mercredi.
Dans la spécialité de 50 m dos, Ardjoune Abdellah et Benbara Nazim ont tous les deux composté leurs billets pour les finales, tout comme Syoud Jaouad et Ramzi Chouchar dans la spécialité de 200m nage libre.
Les éliminatoires des 100 m papillon ont vu l’illustration des deux Algériens qui ont concouru dans cette spécialité, en l’occurrence, Fares Amar et Akram Amine qui ont tous les deux validé leur billet pour la Finale. Leurs coéquipiers Abdenour Nedjari et Moncef Balamane ont eux aussi réalisé la même prouesse lors des éliminatoires du 100 m brasse.
Au menu de cette première journée pas moins de 11 finales qui débuteront à 17h00. Ces finales seront précédées par la cérémonie d’ouverture officielle de cette compétition que l’Algérie accueille pour la première fois et à laquelle participe plus de 200 athlètes issus de 12 pays.
Les trois premiers jours de ce championnat arabe sont consacrés aux épreuves dans la bassin, alors que la quatrième et dernière journée verra l’organisation de la course en eau libre sur une distance de 5 km au niveau de la plage “New beach” à Aïn El-Turck.
