Le président de la République, M. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a distingué mercredi au palais du Peuple (Alger), les joueurs de la sélection algérienne de football championne arabe des moins de 17 ans, ainsi que les sportifs algériens sacrés lors des différentes compétitions internationales en 2022.De hauts responsables de l’Etat étaient présents à cette cérémonie dont le président du Conseil de la nation, Salah Goudjil, le président de la Cour constitutionnelle, Omar Belhadj, et le Général d’Armée, Saïd Chanegriha, chef d’Etat-Major de l’Armée nationale populaire (ANP), et des membres du gouvernement.
Des conseillers du Président Tebboune, le ministre de la Jeunesse et des Sports Abderrazak Sebgag, le président du Comité olympique et sportif algérien, Abderrahmane Hammad, et le président de la FAF, Djahid Zefizef ont également pris part à cette cérémonie qui a débuté par l’écoute de l’hymne national.
Le Président Tebboune a remis à l’entame de cette cérémonie des attestations et des récompenses financières aux jeunes footballeurs, avant de récompenser les athlètes algériens médaillés aux jeux de la Solidarité islamique (Konya-2022), le vice-champion du monde du 800 m aux Mondiaux d’athlétisme d’Oregon (Etats-Unis) Djamel Sedjati, ainsi que les sportifs médaillés aux championnats du monde d’athlétisme des Jeunes à Cali (Colombie) et les athlètes handisports qui se sont illustrés aux jeux mondiaux des Sourds au Brésil.
Après une photo de famille avec l’ensemble des athlètes honorés, le président de la République s’est vu remettre le trophée de la coupe arabe par le capitaine de la sélection des moins de 17 ans.
Le membre du bureau fédéral et directeur de la 4e édition de la coupe arabe, Hakim Medane a offert à M. Tebboune, un maillot de l’équipe nationale floqué au nom du président de la République, en présence du sélectionneur national Rezki Remmane et de Mohamed Maouche, membre de l’ancienne équipe du FLN.
Le président de la République, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, rappelle-t-on, avait félicité jeudi dernier dans un tweet la sélection nationale des U17 juste après le sacre arabe.
“Des cadets, mais des lions sur la pelouse … Merci aux champions arabes pour votre exploit… Félicitations à l’Algérie pour la Coupe arabe U17”, a-t-il écrit.
Sacrée en finale de la Coupe arabe de la catégorie face au Maroc aux tab 4-2 (temps règlementaire 1-1), jouée le 8e septembre au stade Abdelkrim-Kerroum de Sig (Mascara), la sélection algérienne U17 reprendra du service, en avril 2023 à l’occasion de la phase finale de la Coupe d’Afrique de la catégorie prévue en Algérie, et qualificative à la Coupe du monde de la même catégorie.
