Les combats ont repris dimanche matin à Khartoum peu de temps après l’expiration d’une trêve de 24 heures, selon des témoins sur place, cités par des médias.
Les habitants de Khartoum ont été réveillés par les tirs d’artillerie et le bruit des combats dans plusieurs quartiers de la capitale, précisent les mêmes sources.
Les affrontements ont repris dix minutes après la fin de la trêve de 24 heures, qui avait commencé samedi à 06h00 heure de Khartoum (04H00 GMT).
Des pilonnages d’artillerie lourde ont été entendus à Khartoum et à Omdourman, dans la banlieue de la capitale, et des tirs avec “divers types d’armes” ont été signalés dans la rue Al-Haya, dans le sud de Khartoum.
Cette nouvelle trêve, globalement respectée selon les témoins, avait permis aux habitants de Khartoum de profiter d’un répit pour se ravitailler ou fuir la capitale, en proie depuis bientôt deux mois à un conflit armé qui a conduit à une grave crise humanitaire.
Le conflit a éclaté le 15 avril entre l’armée, dirigée par le général Abdel Fattah al-Burhane, et les Forces de soutien rapide (FSR) du général Mohamed Hamdane Daglo.
Les précédentes trêves avaient été généralement violées dès leur entrée en vigueur. La guerre a déjà fait plus de 1.800 morts, ainsi que deux millions de déplacés et réfugiés selon l’ONU.
