ALGÉRIE/ POLITIQUE : Amnesty demande une enquête « indépendante et impartiale » sur la mort de Ramzi Yettou
Amnesty International a demandé ce mardi que l’enquête sur les circonstances de la mort du manifestant Ramzi Yettou, décédé le 19 avril dernier, soit « approfondie, indépendante, impartiale et efficace ».
« Les autorités algériennes doivent veiller à ce que l’investigation diligentée sur la mort du manifestant Ramzi Yettou, 22 ans, violemment roué de coups par des policiers le mois dernier, soit approfondie, indépendante, impartiale et efficace, » a affirmé Amnesty dans un communiqué diffusé ce mardi.
« D’après les récits de témoins présents sur les lieux, des policiers ont violemment frappé Ramzi Yettou sur le crâne, causant des blessures qui auraient conduit à sa mort. Il est notoire que les autorités algériennes s’abstiennent trop souvent d’amener les membres des forces de sécurité responsables de violations des droits humains à rendre des comptes, et il est donc d’autant plus crucial qu’elles mènent une enquête digne de ce nom sur ces événements, » a déclaré Magdalena Mughrabi, directrice adjointe pour l’Afrique du Nord et le Moyen-Orient à Amnesty International.
« Ordonner une enquête sur la mort de Ramzi Yettou n’est que le premier pas vers la justice. Il faut qu’elle soit indépendante, impartiale et efficace, et que les policiers impliqués soient suspendus pendant la durée des investigations. Si les responsables de sa mort ne sont pas amenés à rendre des comptes, les policiers seront confortés dans leurs agissements, persuadés d’être libres d’agir au-dessus des lois et de commettre des infractions sans en assumer les conséquences, » a ajouté la responsable d’Amnesty.
