MONDE/ SPORT/ CAF : Ahmad Ahmad interpellé à Paris, pour corruption
Le président de la Confédération africaine de football (CAF) Ahmad Ahmad a été interpellé ce jeudi matin dans un hôtel à Paris, où il séjournait pour assister au congrès de la Fifa, rapporte Jeune Afrique.
La même source a précisé qu’ Ahmad Ahmad a été interpellé ce jeudi vers 8h30 à l’hôtel de Berri, à Paris, pour être entendu par les services de l’Office central de lutte contre la corruption et les infractions financières et fiscales (OCLCIFF).
Jeune Afrique croit savoir que cette interpellation «serait liée au contrat rompu unilatéralement par la CAF avec l’équipementier allemand Puma pour s’engager avec la société Tactical Steel, basée à La Seyne-sur-Mer».
Le Magazine relève qu’une signature de contrat qui, selon l’ex-secrétaire général de l’instance continentale Amr Fahmy, aurait été favorisée par la proximité entre Ahmad Ahmad et un des dirigeants de l’entreprise française, et dont le surcoût atteindrait 830 000 dollars (739 000 euros).
A noter que l’arrestation intervient alors qu’Ahmad Ahmad se trouvait à Paris pour assister au congrès de la Fifa, qui a abouti à la réélection du président Gianni Infantino.
Mercredi soir, la CAF a pris la décision inédite de faire rejouer la finale retour de la Ligue des champions africaine, après l’interruption controversée du match pour un problème lié à l’assistance vidéo à l’arbitrage.
Une vive polémique s’en est suivie, les Tunisiens de l’Espérance sportive de Tunis, déclarés vainqueurs mais déchus de fait du quatrième titre continental de leur histoire, ayant annoncé leur intention de saisir le Tribunal arbitral du sport (TAS).
