Le Centre arabo-africain d’investissement et de développement (CAAID) a organisé jeudi à Alger une cérémonie pour célébrer la journée mondiale de l’Afrique, qui coïncide avec le 25 mai de chaque année, et ce, en présence du corps diplomatique accrédité en Algérie.
Lors d’une cérémonie, organisée au Palais de la Culture “Moufdi Zakaria”, en présence du vice-président de l’Assemblée national populaire (APN), Lansari Ghali, du président de l’Observatoire national de la société civile, Noureddine Benbraham, les invités, principalement des ambassadeurs ou leurs représentants, ont souligné l’impératif de redoubler les efforts pour accélérer le développement socio-économique au continent africain disposant d’un capital humain important et d’un fort potentiel économique.
Dans son allocution, le représentant du ministère des Affaires étrangères et de la Communauté nationale à l’étranger, Rabah Fassih, a présenté à l’assistance les félicitations du ministre, Ahmed Attaf, à l’occasion de cette Journée.
Fassih a réitéré la disponibilité de l’Algérie à soutenir toute initiative visant à promouvoir et renforcer la paix et le développement en Afrique, rappelant à l’occasion les efforts consentis par l’Algérie pour faire sortir le continent du joug colonial, ainsi que la formation de ressortissants africains dans tous les domaines et le soutien des pays africains en matière de développement.
De son côté, l’ambassadeur de la Russie, Valerian Shuvaev, a affirmé la profondeur des relations historiques avec le continent africain, soulignant l’aide apportée par son pays pour l’indépendance de beaucoup de pays.
L’ambassadeur russe a transmis les félicitations du président de la Russie Vladimir Poutine pour les Africains à l’occasion de cette journée mondiale.
Quant au président de l’Observatoire national de la société civile, il a insisté sur le rôle de la société civile africaine et la nécessité de sa mobilisation en vue de développer et sécuriser le continent, appelant à l’occasion à la pleine solidarité africaine pour la libération du Sahara Occidental, dernière colonie en Afrique.
Pour sa part, Cherif Benhabiles, directeur général de la Caisse nationale de mutualité agricole (CNMA), et vice-président de l’Organisation africaine des assurances (OAA), a relevé l’importance de la nouvelle session de l’assemblée générale de cette organisation qui se tiendra le 29 mai en cours à Alger, ajoutant que plus de 1.700 participants sont attendus à ce rendez-vous qui sera consacré au rôle des assurances dans la sécurité alimentaire.
