MONDE/POLITIQUE: TUNISIE: Abdelfattah Mourou, candidat de Ennahda à la présidentielle de septembre
Le parti d’inspiration islamiste Ennahdha en Tunisie, principale force au Parlement, a présenté mercredi un candidat, Abdelfattah Mourou, à la présidentielle anticipée de septembre, une première dans l’histoire de cette formation.
L’annonce de cette candidature a été faite dans un communiqué laconique par le parti qui doit tenir dans l’après-midi une conférence de presse.
Abdelfattah Mourou, 71 ans, est chef du Parlement par intérim, depuis que son prédécesseur Mohamed Ennaceur est devenu président par intérim après le décès le 25 juillet du président Beji Caïd Essebsi à l’âge de 92 ans.
En 2011, neuf mois après la révolution qui a chassé du pouvoir le président Zine el Abidine ben Ali et mis le pays sur la voie de la démocratie, Ennahdha avait remporté les législatives, le premier scrutin post-révolution.
Mais “c’est la première fois de son histoire que le mouvement présente un candidat à la présidentielle”, a déclaré à l’AFP le porte-parole d’Ennahdha, Imed Khmiri.
“Le Conseil consultatif du parti a voté à une majorité de 98 voix en faveur de la candidature d’Abdelfattah Mourou à l’élection présidentielle”, a indiqué Ennahdha dans son communiqué.
Connu pour sa modération, Abdelfattah Mourou est l’un des membres fondateurs d’Ennahdha au côté de Rached Ghannouchi. Le parti a été fondé en 1981.
Avant le décès du chef de l’Etat et le bouleversement du calendrier électoral, Ennahdha était réticent à l’idée de présenter son propre candidat à la présidentielle et misait sur un succès aux législatives prévues initialement avant la présidentielle pour laquelle il voulait jouer les faiseurs de roi.
Mais le premier tour de la présidentielle a été avancé au 15 septembre et les législatives sont prévues le 6 octobre.
