Invité du Forum du quotidien Echâab, le ministre a indiqué que le projet de Ghar-Djebilet est considéré parmi les priorités du secteur, d’autant plus que l’Algérie a besoin de produire 12 millions de tonnes de fer, en vue de couvrir les besoins nationaux, la production actuelle ne dépassant pas 5 millions de tonnes.
Jusqu’à présent, les discussions avec le partenaire chinois se sont achevées, tandis que la dernière étape pour déterminer le financement, devra être achevée, a fait savoir M. Arkab.
Les opérations d’exploitation requièrent l’utilisation de techniques modernes, en vue de la dé-phosphorisation à un taux inférieur à 0,05 %, en collaboration avec le partenaire chinois.
