L’Algérie vient d’enregistrer 28 nouveaux cas du variant britannique et 42 autres du variant nigérian de la Covid-19, selon un bilan fourni mardi soir par l’Institut Pasteur d’Algérie (IPA).“Dans la continuité des activités de séquençage des virus SARS-CoV-2 mises en place par l’Institut Pasteur d’Algérie (…) il a été procédé à la confirmation de vingt huit (28) nouveaux cas de variant britannique (B.1.1.7) et de quarante-deux (42) nouveaux cas de variant nigérian (B.1.525)”, précise l’IPA dans un communiqué.
Les nouveaux cas du variant britannique ont été recensés dans les wilayas d’Alger (18), Oran (03), Alger(02) Blida(02), Bouira(02), Médéa(01), Relizane (01) et Ouargla (01). Tandis que les cas de contamination au variant nigérian ont été enregistrés dans les wilayas de Laghouat (19), ElOued(10), Alger(09), Bouira (03), Ouargla (01).
Le nombre total de cas confirmés de variants à ce jour, s’élève ainsi à 58 cas pour le britannique et 98 cas pour le nigérian, conclut l’Institut Pasteur d’Algérie.
