Le président du Conseil présidentiel libyen, Mohamed Yunus Al-Menfi s’est hautement félicité, mercredi à Alger, du “noble” soutien de l’Algérie aux frères libyens, mettant en avant son rôle pivot pour l’étape à venir en vue du règlement de la crise dans son pays, à travers une position arabe unifiée lors du prochain sommet arabe.
“Nous nous félicitons hautement du noble soutien de l’Algérie à la Libye, une position qui aidera le Conseil présidentiel à organiser des élections dans les plus brefs délais et à la concrétisation de la Réconciliation nationale avec le soutien de la jeunesse libyenne qui portera le flambeau de l’Etat libyen indépendant”, a indiqué M. Al-Menfi dans une déclaration conjointe avec le Président de la République, M. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, à l’issue de leurs entretiens au siège de la Présidence de la République.
Le responsable libyen a mis en avant le rôle “important” de l’Algérie pour l’étape à venir, notamment à l’occasion du Sommet arabe prévu les 1er et 2 novembre à Alger, à travers “une position arabe unifiée concernant la cause libyenne, à même de permettre l’organisation d’élections dans les plus brefs délais”. Pour ce faire, a-t-il ajouté, “nous misons sur la diplomatie algérienne de renom et la clairvoyance du Président Tebboune”.
Il a, en outre, rappelé l’existence d’un “consensus général concernant l’importance des élections en tant que seule issue pour le peuple libyen, à travers l’adoption d’une base constitutionnelle pour organiser des élections sans délais, des élections qui constitueront le prélude de la stabilité de la situation politique, et partant de là, la stabilité générale en Libye”.
M. Al-Menfi a aussi déclaré que sa rencontre avec M. Tebboune “a permis de confirmer la solidité des relations bilatérales, notamment en matière de sécurité, de migration et d’autres dossiers d’intérêt commun”.
