Le Chef d’Etat-Major de la Gendarmerie nationale, le Général Sid-Ahmed Berroumana, a présidé, mardi à Alger, une cérémonie organisée en l’honneur de femmes cadres à l’occasion de la célébration de la Journée internationale des femmes en reconnaissance de leur rôle au service du pays.
Lors de cette cérémonie en l’honneur de représentantes des médias nationaux et de cadres de divers secteurs, le Général Berroumana a précisé que “la femme algérienne, au lendemain de l’indépendance, a su s’imposer en contribuant activement au processus de développement”, ajoutant qu’elle est aujourd’hui “un acteur incontournable au sein de la société à travers les responsabilités publiques qu’elle assume et sa participation active aux divers domaines du développement”.
Le Commandement de la Gendarmerie nationale et l’Armée nationale populaire (ANP), digne héritière de l’Armée de libération nationale (ALN), à l’instar de toutes les institutions étatiques algériennes, célèbrent cette journée “hautement symbolique en ce qu’elle représente une étape saillante de la lutte de longue haleine menée par les femmes pour arracher leurs pleins droits sociaux et de leurs efforts inlassables à travers l’histoire pour s’imposer comme éléments essentiels dans l’édification et le développement de la société”, a affirmé le Chef d’Etat-Major de la Gendarmerie nationale.
“La femme algérienne a toujours occupé une place particulière dans la société algérienne, elle qui a participé aux épopées écrites par notre peuple et consenti les mêmes sacrifices pendant la colonisation pour lutter contre toutes les formes de discrimination, de violence et d’oppression et faire prévaloir les principes de justice et d’équité, et qui a défendu sa terre et son honneur, aux côtés des hommes, pendant les résistances populaires et la grande Révolution de libération nationale”, a-t-il ajouté.
