Un mort à Kiev après une attaque « massive » de drones russes
Un homme est mort à Kiev après une attaque de drones russes, a annoncé dimanche son maire. « Dans le district de Solomyanskyi de la capitale, en raison d’une chute de débris de drones près d’une station-service, une femme de 35 ans a été hospitalisée et un homme de 41 ans est mort », a écrit Vitali Klitschko sur Telegram.
Le maire a qualifié cette nouvelle attaque de « massive » et appelé la population à rester à l’abri, mettant en garde contre de nouvelles vagues de drones fondant sur Kiev « en provenance de plusieurs directions à la fois ». Il avait expliqué un peu plus tôt que la défense aérienne de Kiev avait abattu « plus de 20 drones » qui se dirigeaient vers la ville.
Cette attaque de drones est la 14e sur la capitale ukrainienne depuis le début du mois de mai.

L’Ukraine a affirmé ce dimanche avoir contré dans la nuit « l’attaque de drones la plus importante » sur Kiev « depuis le début de l’invasion » russe, les autorités militaires disant avoir détruit 52 des 54 drones explosifs lancés par Moscou dans le pays dont « plus de 40 » au-dessus de la capitale.
« Au total, un nombre record de drones explosifs lancés ont été enregistrés : 54 ! », a indiqué l’armée de l’air ukrainienne sur Telegram, affirmant en avoir « détruit 52 ». Les autorités ont enregistré à ce stade deux morts et trois blessés à Kiev.
Zelensky salue « les héros » de la défense antiaérienne après l’attaque nocturne russe
Le président ukrainien Volodymyr Zelensky a salué dimanche « les héros » de la défense antiaérienne qui ont contré la plus importante attaque de drones sur Kiev depuis le début de l’invasion russe, selon les autorités militaires.
« Chaque fois que vous abattez des drones et des missiles ennemis, des vies sont sauvées. (…) Vous êtes nos héros », a-t-il remercié dans un message publié sur Telegram.
« L’attaque a été lancée en plusieurs vagues et l’alerte aérienne a duré plus de cinq heures »
L’armée de l’air ukrainienne a déclaré avoir abattu 52 drones « kamikazes » iraniens sur 54, sans préciser le nombre d’engins tirés sur Kiev. Le chef de l’administration militaire de la capitale, Serhi Popko, a estimé que ces raids de drones visant Kiev étaient les plus importants depuis le début de l’invasion de l’Ukraine par la Russie, le 24 février 2022.
Ces attaques surviennent le jour de l’anniversaire de la fondation de Kiev, il y a 1 541 ans, une journée traditionnellement marquée par des foires de rue, des concerts et des expositions. « Aujourd’hui, l’ennemi a décidé de “congratuler” la population de Kiev », a ironisé Serhi Popko . « L’attaque a été lancée en plusieurs vagues et l’alerte aérienne a duré plus de cinq heures », a-t-il précisé.
Les sirènes se sont déclenchées peu après minuit et plusieurs quartiers de la capitale de 3 millions d’habitants ont été touchés.
Dans le quartier administratif Solomiansky, la chute de débris sur une station-service a coûté la vie à un homme de 41 ans, a déclaré Vitali Klitschko, le maire de Kiev. L’administration militaire a annoncé un bilan d’au moins deux blessés. Selon Vitali Klitschko, les attaques ont également provoqué l’incendie d’un entrepôt dans le sud-ouest de la capitale.
Un feu s’est déclaré en outre sur le toit d’un immeuble de neuf étages dans le quartier historique Petchersky, selon les autorités militaires.
Kiev demande à l’Allemagne des missiles de croisière
L’Ukraine a adressé « au cours des derniers jours » au gouvernement allemand une demande officielle de livraisons de missiles de croisière air-sol, de type Taurus avec une portée d’au moins 500 km, a indiqué samedi le ministère allemand de la Défense.
Reste à savoir maintenant si Berlin acceptera ou pas, ce qui devrait susciter de vifs débats en interne. Le gouvernement allemand a en effet nettement augmenté ses fournitures d’armement à Kiev au cours des derniers mois mais s’est montré jusqu’ici réticent au sujet de missiles de croisière ou d’un soutien à l’aviation ukrainienne, pour l’aide à la livraison de chasseurs F-16 par exemple.

Cela ne fait aucun doute », a déclaré Sergueï Lavrov dans un entretien à la télévision russe dont un extrait a été publié sur les réseaux sociaux du journaliste l’ayant interrogé. « C’est une escalade inacceptable » menée par « Washington, Londres et leurs satellites au sein de l’UE » qui veulent « affaiblir la Russie », a-t-il appuyé.

L’Ukrainienne Marta Kostyuk a refusé de serrer la main à la Biélorusse Aryna Sabalenka après sa défaite 6-3, 6-2 au premier tour de Roland-Garros. Originaire de Kiev, Kostyuk juge les instances du tennis trop accommodantes avec les joueurs russes et biélorusses dans les mesures prises en réponse à l’invasion de son pays par les troupes de Moscou en février 2022.
Elle avait déjà choisi de ne pas saluer une autre Biélorusse, Victoria Azarenka, préférant toucher la raquette de son adversaire avec la sienne lors du dernier US Open. Elle a cette fois décidé de ne pas saluer Sabalenka du tout, s’attirant les huées du public à ce moment, puis en sortant du court.
« Peu importe si elle me déteste », avait dit avant la rencontre Sabalenka, N.2 mondiale qui était interrogée à ce sujet. « Concernant l’absence de poignée de main, je peux le comprendre », avait-elle ajouté.
