Le Commandant général des Scouts musulmans algériens (SMA), Abderrahmane Hamzaoui a été reconduit, jeudi soir à Alger, pour un nouveau mandat par le conseil national de l’Organisation.
Après son plébiscite pour un nouveau mandat de quatre ans à la tête du Commandement général des SMA en marge des travaux du 13e Congrès de l’organisation, M. Hamzaoui a affirmé que le défi à relever pour la prochaine étape “est d’atteindre un million de scouts et de renforcer la présence des dirigeants des SMA dans les différentes instances internationales”.
M. Hamzaoui a indiqué qu’il œuvrera, durant ce nouveau mandat, à “renforcer l’encadrement des jeunes et contribuer à la formation des différentes générations, eu égard aux nombreux responsables et dirigeants du pays issus des SMA à travers notre histoire”, affirmant l’engagement de l’Organisation à apporter son “soutien aux questions essentielles au mieux des intérêts du pays”.
Dans ce contexte, le Commandant général a cité certaines personnalités issues des SMA qui ont laissé leur empreinte au niveau national, notamment des figures emblématiques et des héros de la guerre de libération nationale, mettant en exergue les contributions des scouts notamment lors des catastrophes à l’instar de la pandémie de Covid-19 et des incendies dont celui d’el Kala où la cheffe scout et héroïne Dounia Bouhlassa avait rendu l’âme après avoir sauvé plusieurs enfants.
Lors de ce Congrès, le Comité arabe du scoutisme (CAS) a attribué le Prix d’excellence des scouts à l’Algérie et à M. Hamzaoui.
Par ailleurs, les différents représentants des organisations arabes et internationales de scoutisme présents au Congrès se sont félicités des efforts des SMA dans divers domaines, étant une véritable école pour les jeunes.
