Le Syndicat National des Journalistes (SNJ) dénonce, mardi soir, dans un communiqué les agressions physiques et verbales à l’encontre “des journalistes, reporters photographes, caméramans et techniciens de plusieurs médias nationaux“.
“Des confrères, journalistes, reporters photographes, caméramans et techniciens de plusieurs médias nationaux ont souvent fait l’objet, ces derniers jours, d’agressions physiques et verbales, par des policiers et parfois même par des individus zélés à l’occasion de leur couverture sur le terrain, des marches marches populaires, notamment à Alger” écrit le SNJ.
Le Syndicat national des journalistes” profondément scandalisé, tient à dénoncer ce genre de comportement et d’agression à l’égard des confrères auxquels il rend d’ailleurs hommage pour leur admirable travail sur le terrain. Un travail qui consiste à assurer une couverture médiatique complète et permanente, de ces grands moments historiques que vit la nation et le peuple algériens”, ajoute la même source.
Pour le SNJ, “entraver la mission des femmes et des hommes des médias est une grave atteinte à la liberté d’expression et au droit du citoyen à l’information, à plus forte raison s’agissant de la couverture médiatique de cette extraordinaire révolution populaire à travers laquelle les algériens réclament, par millions, aux quatre coins du pays et aux quatre coins du monde, une Algérie démocratique, pluraliste, libre, juste et bâtie sur un vrai État de droit. Et la liberté de la presse constitue l’un des piliers d’un Etat de droit digne de ce nom”.
