MONDE/ Tunisie : Les frères Karoui soupçonnés de blanchiment d’argent en Algérie
Le pôle judiciaire économique et financier tunisien a décidé de geler les avoirs et d’imposer une interdiction de quitter le territoire tunisien à l’encontre des frères Nabil et Ghazi Karoui, propriétaires de la chaîne de télévision Nessma TV, a annoncé l’agence de presse tunisienne TAP citée par la version tunisienne du Huff Post Maghreb.
Ces « mesures de précaution » sont en vigueur depuis la décision du juge d’instruction prise le 28 juin dernier. Les mesures font suite à une plaine portée le 14 mars dernier par l’ONG « I Watch » auprès du pôle judiciaire économique et financier contre les frère Karoui pour « suspicion de blanchiment d’argent » à travers des sociétés dont ils seraient propriétaires en Algérie, au Maroc et au Luxembourg, indique la même source.
Des commissions rogatoires internationales ont dans ce cadre été envoyées à la justice marocaine, algérienne et luxembourgeoise afin d’enquêter sur les activités, les sociétés détenues par Nabil et Ghazi Karoui ou dans lesquelles ils sont actionnaires, ainsi que sur leurs biens meubles et immeubles détenus à l’étranger.
Une demande a également été adressée par le procureur de la République du pôle judiciaire économique et financier à la Banque centrale tunisienne, afin de lever le voile sur la manière avec laquelle l’argent des frères Karoui a pu sortir de Tunisie vers l’étranger.
Nabil Karoui est candidat à la prochaine élection présidentielle en Tunisie. Placé en tête des intentions de vote pour les prochaines élections par plusieurs sondages, il se dit « victime » d’une campagne orchestrée par le chef du gouvernement, rapporte le Huff Post Maghreb.
