MONDE/ SPORT/ France : L’Algérie l’emporte, et la folie s’empare des supporters des “Fennecs” en France et dans d’autres pays du monde
Fumigènes, klaxons, moteurs vrombissant et foule en liesse: les supporters des “Fennecs” algériens ont envahi les rues, de Marseille à Lyon, Paris, Lille ou Strasbourg, pour célébrer la victoire des leurs en finale de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations, 29 ans après leur précédent titre continental.
Pendant tout le match, la Canebière et les artères voisines, au coeur du centre-ville populaire de Marseille, étaient bondées. Sur les panneaux de signalisation, les conteneurs à poubelles, sur tous les trottoirs, les supporters ―algériens dans leur grande majorité, malgré la présence de quelques fans sénégalais― se sont entassés pour suivre la rencontre sur les écrans géants sortis par tous les cafetiers du quartier.
Dès le coup de sifflet final, contournant un cordon de policiers casqués et harnachés, une marée humaine a commencé à déferler vers le Vieux Port, qui, feu d’artifice du 14 juillet oblige, avait été interdit aux supporters algériens lors de la demi-finale remportée face au Nigeria. Marseille semble emporté par la folie, au bruit des moteurs de motos et de scooters, des pétards et des klaxons, noyée sous les fumigènes, “craqués” par dizaines. L’ambiance, quelques minutes après la fin du match, reste festive, quelques jeunes osant même des “selfies” avec les CRS.
A quelques centaines de kilomètres, les mêmes scènes se répètent à Lyon. Le coup de sifflet final, dans le quartier de la Guillotière, entraîne un déchaînement de youyous, pétards, feux d’artifice et fumigènes. Des supporteurs au guidon de scooters font crisser leurs pneus sous les acclamations de la foule. Beaucoup de téléphones allumés immortalisent l’événement.
Autour de la presqu’île, sur des quais, des embouteillages se forment alors que l’accès au centre-ville est bloqué par les forces de l’ordre, déployées en nombre. “Je suis heureuse, le coeur, il bat vite. C’était pas inespéré, on était sûr de gagner”, se réjouit Ariane, drapée dans son drapeau algérien, avant de courir vers la place Gabriel Péri, épicentre des célébrations.
“Normal qu’on fasse la fête”
Sur les Champs-Élysées à Paris, dès la fin du match, des grappes de supporters débarquent sur “la plus belle avenue du monde”, aussi soudainement que le but qui a assommé les Sénégalais dès les premières minutes du match.
Devant la bouche de métro, Bianca, Imene et Farrah ont regardé tout le match sur leur portable, déjà positionnées pour faire la fête. “On avait confiance en nos joueurs !” s’exclame Bianca, 20 ans. “On a gagné. J’aime mon pays, oualah, c’est magnifique !” exulte la jeune fille, aux anges.
Encore plus au nord, encore plus loin de l’Algérie, la joie est similaire à Metz et Strasbourg, ou à Lille: dans la capitale des Flandres, de partout monte la clameur “One, two, three, viva l’Algérie!”, accompagné de hurlements de bonheur, d’un défilés de klaxon, de bruits de pétards mais aussi de nombreux crépitements de feux d’artifice venant de divers endroits.
En début de soirée, les supporters n’étaient pourtant pas forcément les bienvenus partout vendredi soir. Sur le Vieux-Port de Marseille, les habituels écrans géants déployés pour suivre les matchs étaient aux abonnés absents. “C’était trop le bordel”, lâchait la serveuse d’un “pub” à l’anglaise où d’habitude les supporters de foot viennent suivre le ballon en buvant des bières.
De même les rassemblements de supporters étaient interdits vendredi soir sur la Promenade des Anglais à Nice ou la Croisette à Cannes.
C’est surtout cet après-match qui inquiétait les autorités, après les incidents qui ont émaillé la liesse des supporters après les victoires algériennes en quart puis en demi-finale, à Montpellier notamment, avec la mort d’une mère de famille renversée par un chauffard.
A Saint-Etienne, pendant la mi-temps, Sofiane, une trentaine d’années, maillot de l’équipe d’Algérie sur les épaules, invitait les médias à “ne pas grossir les petits incidents” qui pourraient émailler la soirée. “Il y a malheureusement toujours quelques jeunes qui font les cons. Et quand ça arrive, ils nous font honte”, regrette-t-il.
“Nous, on n’a pas demandé à naître en France. Et même si on vit ici, l’Algérie c’est notre 2e pays. Donc c’est normal qu’on fasse la fête quand elle gagne une grande compétition. Quand la France remporte la Coupe du monde, on fait aussi la fête”, conclut-il.
