L‘ancien président du Conseil constitutionnel, Tayeb Belaiz, est décédé samedi à Oran, à l’âge de 75 ans, a-t-on appris de ses proches.
Né en 1948 à Maghnia (Tlemcen), feu Belaiz a débuté sa carrière au ministère des Affaires étrangères, avant de rejoindre le corps judiciaire où il évoluera pendant plus de 25 ans, occupant plusieurs postes dont celui de président des cours d’Oran et de Sidi Bel Abbes ainsi que Conseiller à la Cour suprême.
En 2002, le défunt s’est vu confier le ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité nationale, puis le ministère de la Justice (2003) et celui de l’Intérieur et des Collectivités locales (2013-2015), avant sa nomination ministre d’Etat, conseiller du Président de la République.
De février à avril 2019, feu Belaiz était président du Conseil constitutionnel, un poste qu’il avait déjà occupé entre 2012 et 2013.
Le défunt sera inhumé ce samedi après la prière d’El Asr, au cimetière d’Ain El Baida (Oran).
