Le président de la Fédération algérienne de football (FAF) Kheïreddine Zetchi, dont la candidature au Conseil de la Fédération internationale (Fifa) a été rejetée, a indiqué mercredi qu’il allait user de son “droit de recours” auprès des instances concernées, tout en révélant les deux causes de son inéligibilité.
“Je voudrais éclairer l’opinion publique au sujet de ma candidature aux élections du Conseil de la Fifa. Effectivement, j’ai reçu hier (mardi, ndlr), une correspondance de la commission de contrôle de la Fifa qui invalide ma candidature. Les raisons invoquées est de ne pas avoir mentionné dans le questionnaire deux sanctions, à savoir une sanction interne prononcée en 2016 alors que j’étais officiel dans mon club, pour une déclaration à la presse, et la seconde est une sanction au niveau de la Confédération africaine (CAF) pour avoir quitté le comité d’organisation du Championnat d’Afrique des nations CHAN-2018 au Maroc”, a indiqué Zetchi dans une déclaration vidéo diffusée sur le site de lla FAF
Avec le rejet du dossier de Zetchi, trois candidats ont été retenus pour les deux sièges libérés en fin de mandat de quatre ans par le Tunisien Tarek Bouchamaoui et l’Egyptien Hani Abo Rida. Il s’agit du Marocain Fawzi Lekdjaâ, de l’Equato-Guinéen Gustavo Ndong et d’Abo Rida, qui brigue un second mandat.
“J’ai rempli le formulaire de bonne foi. Aujourd’hui, je ne voudrais pas donner plus de détails, car je veux user de mon droit de recours. Après la décision finale, je vais donner plus d’éclaircissements sur ce dossier”, a-t-il conclu.
