L’Algérie sera représentée par 48 athlètes à la 18e édition des Championnats du monde de Kempo, prévue du 7 au 14 mai en Tunisie, a-t-on appris mercredi auprès de la Fédération algérienne de la discipline (FAK).
Dans une déclaration à l’APS, le président de l’instance fédérale, Hichem Ouhalima, a indiqué que “l’Algérie prendra part aux Mondiaux 2022 avec les sélections cadette, junior, U21 et seniors (messieurs et dames) avec un total de 48 athlètes, actuellement en stage à Tipasa”.
“Nous visons la première place du classement général, après avoir obtenu la deuxième place (64 médailles dont 17 en or), lors de la dernière édition disputée en Turquie derrière la Roumanie”, a-t-il assuré, ajoutant que la délégation algérienne, qui compte également neuf arbitres, se rendra en Tunisie par route afin de “diminuer les frais de déplacement”.
Par ailleurs, Ouhalima a regretté que le Kempo ne soit retenu au programme des Jeux méditerranéens d’Oran 2022, soulignant la déception des athlètes, qui sont désormais déterminés à réaliser des résultats “positifs” au rendez-vous de Tunis.
Répartition des athlètes convoqués pour les Mondiaux 2022 en Tunisie:
– Cadets : 3 garçons.
– Juniors : 2 garçons
– Moins de 21 ans (U21) : 14 garçons, 8 filles
– Seniors : 12 messieurs, 9 dames.
