La Fédération internationale de football (FIFA) a infligé une amende de 3000 francs suisses (un peu moins de 3000 euros) à la Fédération algérienne (FAF) pour diverses infractions liées à l’ordre et à la sécurité, lors de la confrontation, du 29 mars dernier, contre le Cameroun, pour le compte des barrages (retour) du Mondial 2022 au Qatar.
Dans un communiqué publié, lundi sur son site officiel, la FIFA a indiqué que la sanction imposée par sa Commission de discipline, en application de l’article 16 du code disciplinaire, fait référence plus précisément, “aux jets d’objets” et de “fumigènes”.
Outre la sentence prononcée contre l’Algérie, une cinquantaine de rencontres ont été concernées par des sanctions semblables, pour des “incidents survenus lors de la compétition préliminaire de la Coupe du Monde de la FIFA, Qatar 2022 au premier trimestre de cette année”.
La FIFA a expliqué que “conformément à la position de tolérance zéro de l’instance contre la discrimination et la violence dans le football, un certain nombre d’associations membres ont été sanctionnées en raison du comportement abusif de leurs supporters respectifs”.
Cette sanction infligée est sans aucun lien avec le recours déposé par la FAF, qui conteste l’arbitrage du Gambien Bakary Gassama, accusé d’avoir pris plusieurs décisions favorables au Cameroun. La Fifa doit encore se prononcer sur le sujet.
La Fédération algérienne de football avait entrepris, sur recommandations de ses conseils juridiques, une demande à la Fifa à l’effet de faire examiner le dossier de réclamation introduit au sujet de la rencontre, par la Commission d’arbitrage de la Fifa, seule habilitée à mettre la lumière sur l’impartialité de l’arbitre du match.
Les preuves impliquant l’arbitre Bakary Gassama sont au niveau de la commission de discipline.
Dans un communiqué publié, la FAF avait affirmé que “cette demande était motivée par le fait que le dossier de réclamation introduit s’appuie sur un argumentaire et des considérations techniques liées à l’arbitrage qui nécessitent un examen de la part d’une structure spécialisée”.
Selon la même source, la FAF s’est appuyée dans son dossier sur la nécessité de revenir aux enregistrements vocaux qui ont eu lieu entre le directeur de jeu Gassama et les arbitres de l’assistance vidéo à l’arbitrage (VAR).
“Dans le cas où le verdict attendu ne sera pas favorable à l’équipe nationale, la FAF est disposée à saisir le Tribunal arbitral du Sport (TAS) de Lausanne”, a indiqué à l’APS un membre du Bureau fédéral de la FAF.
