L’école militaire d’application du génie (E.A.G) de Bejaia a ouvert ses portes, lundi, aux médias nationaux, leur faisant découvrir ainsi, les formations qui y sont dispensées, les structures et les moyens pédagogiques qu’elle recèle et les missions qui lui incombent.
Ouverte en février 1965 à Hussein Dey-Alger puis délocalisée à Bejaia en janvier 1976, l’institution militaire a pris, au fil des années, des galons pour devenir un repère et une référence nationale dans la formation, l’entrainement et la préparation de ses élèves et stagiaires.
“Tous les moyens techniques, militaires et didactiques sont mis à leur disposition pour leur inculquer, le savoir, les compétences et les connaissances militaires à même de les élever au meilleur d’eux-mêmes et leur assurer une adaptation conséquente à chaque défi dans l’accomplissement de leurs missions”, a expliqué le directeur de l’école, le colonel Bouhamed Abdeslam.
Le génie militaire rappelle-t-on, consiste en temps de guerre à favoriser le déploiement et la progression des troupes et à entraver à l’inverse, la mobilité et la manœuvre ennemie. En complément, il assure les opérations de déminage, les reconnaissances topographiques et prend en charge celles inhérentes à la décontamination des zones affectées. Il construit les bases et infrastructures nécessaires aux déploiements.
En temps de paix, il est régulièrement sollicité, notamment lors des catastrophes naturels (inondations, séismes, incendies) pour venir en aide aux personnes en difficulté ou sinistrées. Une mission éminemment humaine.
Durant cette visite, les journalistes ont pu assister au passage en revue des différents ateliers spécialisés dédiés aux divers métiers, et à des exercices de simulation grandeur nature pour se faire une idée.
Ils ont pu assister entre autres, à une opération de déminage, à un montage ex nihilo d’un pont, à une séance de décontamination ainsi qu’aux exercices physiques tel que menés régulièrement pour tenir les stagiaires dans une forme permanente.
La bibliothèque, les laboratoires de langues, le maniement des ordinateurs, les salles de loisirs n’ont pas été en reste, puisque une place non négligeable leur est accordée de sorte à ce que l’étudiant ait toujours de quoi nourrir ses passions et s’occuper sainement.
