Le 6e Recensement général de la population et de l’habitat (RGPH 2022) a débute dimanche avec l’utilisation, pour la première fois depuis l’indépendance, des nouvelles technologies pour fournir des données et des indicateurs socio-économiques d’aide à la décision.
Le coup d’envoi de l’opération a été donné à la Place Aïssat-Idir (commune de Sidi M’hamed) par le ministre de la Numérisation et des Statistiques, Hocine Cherhabil, et le ministre de l’Intérieur, des Collectivités locales et de l’Aménagement du Territoire, Brahim Merad, en présence du wali d’Alger, Rabehi Abdennour.
Ce recensement, qui s’étalera du 25 septembre au 9 octobre 2022, revêt une “importance stratégique” dans la mesure où les données qu’il fournira refléteront fidèlement le degré d’application sur le terrain des réformes engagées par l’Etat à tous les niveaux au cours de ces dernières années, notamment dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre des engagements internationaux, à l’instar des Objectifs de développement durable (ODD) à l’horizon 2030.
L’organisation fonctionnelle du RGPH est régie par des textes législatifs, dont la loi numéro 86-09 du 29 juillet 1986 relative au Recensement général de la population et de l’habitat, ainsi que le décret exécutif numéro 21-465 portant l’organigramme général du sixième Recensement de la population et de l’habitat.
