L’Algérie a été placée à la 60e position dans l’Indice des pays FutureBrand, qui classe les 75 premiers pays du monde en termes de PIB selon leur réputation internationale. L’indice établi par le cabinet britannique à « quantifier le pouvoir de la ‘’marque’’ d’un pays », « offrir un cadre pour mesurer la perception et les décisions » d’un pays », et « mesurer ‘’ce qui compte’’ sur la durée », explique FutureBrand.
Le rapport se base sur les données collectées dans une enquête concernant 2500 participants. Les 75 pays au plus haut PIB ont été évalués. Chaque participant évalue sept pays, permettant à chaque pays d’être classé par environ 230 participants. L’étude s’intéresse notamment à la qualité de vie, l’environnement des affaires, la culture, les valeurs et le tourisme pour classer les pays.
La 60e place de l’Algérie la classe aux côtés de pays tels que le Kazakhstan (59e), le Vietnam (61e) ou encore le Sri Lanka (58e). L’Algérie est notamment mieux classée que le Maroc, qui occupe la 66e place, mais moins bien classée que l’Egypte (55e) et l’Afrique du Sud (51e).
Dans le haut du classement, le Japon, la Norvège et la Suisse occupent respectivement les trois premières places des pays avec la meilleur « marque » ou réputation. L’Allemagne est 6e, tandis que les Etats-Unis sont 12e. La France occupe la 17e place, derrière les Emirats arabes unis (16e), premier pays arabe du classement. La Chine est 29ème, derrière la Russie (27e) mais devant des pays tels que l’Arabie saoudite (30e) ou encore la Grèce (34ème).
