Le président de la République, M. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a honoré, lundi au Palais d’El-Mouradia (Alger), les athlètes médaillés lors des Jeux paralympiques (Paris-2024).
La cérémonie de distinction a été marquée par la présence des hauts responsables de l’Etat, des parents des athlètes ainsi que leurs staffs techniques.
L’Algérie avait bouclé sa participation à la 17é édition des Jeux paralympiques avec une moisson de onze (11) médailles : six en or et cinq en bronze.
Les six médailles en vermeil ont été l’œuvre d’Athmani Skander Djamil (400 m et 100m, T13), Safia Djelal (lancer de poids assis, F57), Abdelkader Bouamer (para-judo -60 kg, J1), Nassima Saïfi (lancer du disque F57) et Brahim Guendouz Kayak (para-canoé, 200m KL3).
Les cinq breloques en bronze ont été décrochées par Nassima Saifi (poids/F57), Ahmed Mehideb (Club/F32), Hamri Lynda (Longueur/F12), Ouldkouider Ishak (para-judo: -60kg/J2) et Hocine Bettir (para-powelifting): 65kg.
Avec 26 athlètes (18 hommes et 8 filles), l’Algérie avait bouclé sa participation aux 17es Jeux paralympiques de Paris-2024 en tête aux niveaux arabe et africain, et à une honorable 25e place mondiale sur 186 pays, au tableau final des médailles.
