Le ministre de la santé, de la population et de la réforme hospitalière, Abderrahmane Benbouzid a fait état jeudi depuis Boufarik (Blida) de 14 nouveaux cas d’infection par le variant indien du Covid-19 en Algérie.
Treize (13) cas du variant indien du Coronavirus ont été enregistrés dans le Sud du pays et un autre cas à Tizi Ouzou portant le total à 20 cas, a indiqué le ministre en marge de sa visite dans l’établissement hospitalier de Boufarik.
Concernant les raisons de l’apparition de ces cas, il a rappelé qu’il y a des travailleurs indiens et chinois qui travaillent dans des bases de vie au Sahara et dans d’autres régions du pays.
L’Institut Pasteur avait annoncé le 3 mai courant la découverte, pour la première fois en Algérie, de 6 cas d’infection par le variant indien à Tipasa.
Répondant à une question sur la fabrication locale du vaccin, M. Benbouzid a rappelé que le ministre de l’industrie pharmaceutique avait annoncé la fabrication du vaccin russe Sputnik V septembre prochain avec possibilité de fabriquer d’autres vaccins, saluant les efforts consentis dans ce sens avec l’aide des parties concernées et sur recommandations du Président de la République”.
