La militante de la cause algérienne, Juliette Acampora, décédée jeudi à l’âge de 92 ans, a été inhumée samedi au cimetière chrétien de Bologhine (Alger), en présence du Conseiller du président de la République chargé des relations extérieures, Abdelhafid Allahoum, du ministre des Moudjahidine et Ayants-droits, Laïd Reguiba, du wali d’Alger, Ahmed Mabed, ainsi que des proches et compagnons de la défunte.
La militante Juliette Acampora a consacré sa vie au service de la cause de libération nationale et son honorable engagement “reflète la dimension internationale de la glorieuse Révolution du 1er novembre 1954, car fondée sur les principes de justice et des nobles valeurs humaines”, a indiqué M. Reguiba lors de la solennelle cérémonie des obsèques.
“Tous les épris de liberté de par le monde sont redevables à la défunte pour le combat qu’elle a mené en soutien à la cause algérienne et que l’engagement et les idéaux portés par elle et par tous les amis de la Révolution continueront à éclairer la voie de la liberté, dans tous les coins du globe”, a-t-il ajouté.
Présentant ses “sincères condoléances” à la famille de la défunte, le ministre a assuré que cette dernière est “la fille de l’Algérie, de par sa naissance, son militantisme et les principes qu’elle a défendus”, rappelant le même combat mené par son défunt époux, Georges, décédé en 2012.
Il a fait savoir, d’autre part, que, dans le cadre des célébrations du 60e anniversaire de l’indépendance de l’Algérie, “un chapitre sera dédié aux amis de la Révolution algérienne, aussi bien ceux ayant milité en Algérie que dans d’autres pays du monde et ce, en hommage et en reconnaissance à leurs immenses sacrifices”.
“Juliette fait partie de mes sœurs d’hier et d’aujourd’hui. Nous avons partagé le pire pour la liberté et après l’indépendance, elle a également fait le choix de l’Algérie. Elle était une des dernières militantes européennes encore présentes en Algérie et la dernière à Alger qui vient de nous quitter”, a déclaré, pour sa part, la moudjahida Louisa Ighilahriz, présente aux obsèques.
L’ancien moudjahid et membre de la Zone autonome d’Alger (ZAA), Tahar El Hocine, a évoqué, quant à lui, le combat du couple Acompora au sein du Front de libération nationale (FLN), citant notamment le ralliement par Georges de la Zone autonome d’Alger en 1956, puis sa condamnation à mort en 1957.
Le Président de la République, M. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, avait exprimé ses “sincères condoléances” et “toute son empathie” à la famille de la militante Juliette Acampora, louant par la même occasion “son histoire de militante en faveur de la cause algérienne et contre l’occupation française”.
Native du quartier de Zeghara à Bab El Oued, Juliette Acompora a rejoint les rangs de la Révolution algérienne dès son jeune âge pour y militer en tant qu’agent de liaison. Son engagement, sans concessions, aux côtés de son époux, leur vaudra plusieurs arrestations par les autorités coloniales françaises.
