L’ancien président de la République, Liamine Zeroual a adressé un message au peuple algérien à l’occasion de la célébration du 60ème anniversaire du recouvrement de la souveraineté nationale, dont voici le texte intégral:
“60ème anniversaire de l’indépendance: Un appel au devoir de mémoire et de fidélité
Il est des dates dans l’Histoire qui interpellent la conscience d’une Nation qui ne peuvent être occultées, ni oubliées. Le peuple algérien qui a pu arracher son indépendance au prix de lourds sacrifices, a démontré à travers son Histoire séculaire et actuelle, la force de sa foi, de son enracinement culturel et de son attachement à son pays.
Nous ressentons à la veille de la commémoration du 60ème anniversaire de l’indépendance, un sentiment de fierté et un immense honneur d’appartenir à cette grande Nation.
Notre patrie s’est engagée au lendemain de sa libération dans l’édification d’un Etat jaloux de sa souveraineté, soucieux des besoins multiples de son peuple, sorti de la longue nuit coloniale et solidaire des causes justes des peuples qui luttent pour leur émancipation à travers le monde.
A ce jour, les aspirations de notre peuple n’ont pas été pleinement satisfaites et de graves dérives ont été enregistrées au cours de ces années.
Cependant, la flamme et l’esprit de Novembre sont restés gravés et vivaces dans la mémoire collective des Algériennes et des Algériens. Ce précieux capital a servi à consolider, à chaque épreuve, l’unité sans faille de notre peuple et sa détermination à corriger les dérives et à en atténuer collectivement les conséquences.
Aujourd’hui, plus que jamais, notre pays a besoin de tous ses enfants et de leur engagement afin de bannir à jamais les comportements néfastes du passé et de parachever l’édification d’un Etat moderne, digne des sacrifices de nos Chouhadas et capable de faire face aux multiples défis et aux diverses menaces qui marquent notre siècle.
Ces objectifs portés par de légitimes revendications populaires, ont été exprimés de façon massive le 22 février 2019, à travers un soulèvement pacifique et spontané de dizaines de millions de citoyennes et de citoyens.
Cette révolution pacifique, à l’instar de celle de Novembre, a suscité respect et admiration à travers le monde. Elle fut l’œuvre d’une jeunesse assoiffée de liberté et fortement nourrie et attachée aux idéaux de Novembre. Ce grand sursaut populaire a pu mettre fin aux grandes dérives du moment et a surtout redonné l’espoir à chacun d’entre nous de vivre un jour la concrétisation du rêve de nos glorieux chouhadas.
Comme nous le savons tous, les sursauts salutaires de notre peuple se sont toujours manifestés dans les moments les plus difficiles de notre Histoire.
Ainsi, le monde entier salue encore les succès de notre longue et douloureuse lutte contre le terrorisme et avec nos moyens propres. Plus récemment encore, notre peuple avait fait face honorablement à une pandémie qui a secoué le monde et mis en difficulté beaucoup de pays et non des moindres. Plus que jamais, le peuple algérien est conscient de l’ampleur des défis et des menaces qui pèsent sur lui. Il sait comment se prémunir de ces dangers car mûri par les épreuves et les expériences du passé.
La défense de la Nation passe avant tout par le rassemblement de tous les Algériens autour d’objectifs communs. Elle passe aussi par la mise à contribution de l’ensemble de nos institutions pour entretenir, surtout auprès de notre jeunesse, la flamme sacrée de Novembre ainsi que le devoir de mémoire et de fidélité. De même que les liens uniques, qui ont toujours existé entre le peuple algérien et son armée, doivent être maintenus et consolidés en permanence.
L’ANP, digne héritière de la glorieuse ALN, a toujours été au rendez-vous et au service exclusif de son peuple. Elle continue avec succès à faire face quotidiennement à ses obligations constitutionnelles tout en participant activement au redressement de l’économie de notre pays. Le peuple algérien reste prêt à affronter ces énormes défis, tout en étant convaincu qu’il en sortira vainqueur grâce à son unité et à sa détermination à rompre avec les comportements néfastes du passé. L’imprégnation d’un élan nouveau à notre pays rend permis tous les espoirs.
