Le Président de la République, M. Abdelmadjid Tebboune a procédé, jeudi à Alger, à l’inauguration officielle du nouveau stade de Baraki qui porte le nom du leader sud africain, le défunt Nelson Mandela.
A son arrivée à ce stade devant abriter des matchs de la 7e édition du Championnat d’Afrique des nations de football des joueurs locaux (CHAN 2022), prévue du 13 janvier au 4 février 2023, le Président Tebboune a été accueilli par le Chef d’Etat-Major de l’Armée nationale populaire (ANP), le Général d’Armée Saïd Chanegriha, le ministre de l’Intérieur, des Collectivités locales et de l’Aménagement du territoire, Brahim Merad, le ministre de la Jeunesse et des Sports, Abderezzak Sebgag et le wali d’Alger, Abdennour Rabehi.
Ont assisté à la cérémonie d’inauguration, le petit-fils de Nelson Mandela, le président de la Fédération internationale de football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, le président de la Confédération africaine de football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, le président de la Fédération algérienne de football (FAF), Djahid Zefizef et le président du Comité olympique et sportif algérien (COA), Abderrahmane Hammad.
