La chanteuse algérienne Hasna El-Bacharia, célèbre interprète du diwane, est décédée mercredi à Béchar à l’âge de 74 ans, a-t-on appris auprès de la direction locale de la Culture et des Arts.
Native de Béchar en 1950, Hasna El-Bacharia, est considérée comme une des grandes voix féminines de sa génération, en s’imposant comme la seule femme jouant du guembri, instrument réservé traditionnellement aux maâlim (maîtres) du genre.
Avec un parcours riche de plus de trois décennies, Hasna El-Bacharia s’est faite connaitre à la fin des années 90.
Son album “El-Djazaîr djawhara” (L`Algérie est un joyau), édité en 2002, lui a valu un succès retentissant y compris en dehors des auditoires du Diwane.
Hasna El-Bacharia s’est produite sur plusieurs scènes en Algérie et à l’étranger.
 En 2017, l’artiste a été décorée de médaille de l’ordre du mérite national au rang de “Achir”, décernée à des hommes de lettres, de l’art, des chercheurs et des académiciens.
Un film documentaire intitulé “La Rockeuse du désert” sur l’Å“uvre et le parcours de Hasna El-Bacharia de la réalisatrice algéro-canadienne Sarah Nacer, a été projeté en 2022 à Montréal (Canada).
