L‘Algérie a demandé la convocation d’une réunion publique d’urgence au Conseil de sécurité pour mardi prochain consacrée au dernier massacre sioniste perpétré contre une école abritant des déplacés dans la bande de Gaza et qui a fait au moins 100 martyrs.
Selon une source diplomatique à New York, la demande formulée par l’Algérie “est dictée par les développements graves dans les Territoires palestiniens occupés, notamment suite à l’attaque aérienne de l’armée de l’occupation sioniste contre une école à Gaza”.
“Cette demande a été faite en consultation avec l’Etat de Palestine”, signale la même source, précisant que la requête de l’Algérie “est soutenue par d’autres pays membres du Conseil de sécurité”.
Au moins 100 Palestiniens sont tombés en martyrs samedi matin lorsque l’aviation de l’entité sioniste a ciblé, avec trois frappes, l’école Al-Tabaieen, qui hébergeait des déplacés, dans le quartier El-Daraj, à l’est de Gaza.
Ce nouveau massacre a suscité l’indignation de plusieurs pays et organisations internationales qui ont appelé à la protection de la population de l’enclave palestinienne ravagée par une agression sioniste génocidaire depuis le 7 octobre 2023. Selon le dernier bilan, l’agression sioniste contre la bande de Gaza a fait 39.790 martyrs et 92.002 blessés.
L’Algérie réitère son engagement envers la résolution du Conseil de sécurité appelant à “un cessez-le-feu immédiat”
L’Algérie a réitéré, samedi, son engagement envers la résolution appelant à “un cessez-le-feu immédiat, permanent et durable” à Gaza, apportant son soutien aux efforts visant à assurer la mise en œuvre effective et diligente de cette résolution du Conseil de sécurité, a indiqué un communiqué du ministère des Affaires étrangères et de la Communauté nationale à l’étranger.
“En tant que membre non-permanent du Conseil de sécurité, l’Algérie réitère son engagement envers la résolution 2735 du 10 juin dernier appelant à un cessez-le-feu immédiat, permanent et durable à Gaza, résolution dans l’adoption de laquelle l’Algérie a assumé totalement ses responsabilités”, a indiqué le communiqué.
Le ministère affirme, à ce titre, que “l’Algérie renouvelle son attachement, plein et entier, à cette résolution, en particulier dans le contexte actuel marqué par l’intensification de l’agression israélienne dans la bande de Gaza et l’engagement systématique de l’occupation israélienne dans une escalade multidirectionnelle dans la région”.
Dans ce contexte, poursuit le ministère, “l’Algérie apporte son soutien aux efforts visant à assurer la mise en œuvre effective et diligente de cette résolution du Conseil de sécurité, et en particulier à la déclaration conjointe des dirigeants de l’Egypte, du Qatar et des Etats-Unis d’Amérique convenue à cette fin”.
